Yashasvi Jaiswala and Rohit Sharma had scored brilliant centuries in the first Test. Debutant Yashasvi played a mammoth inning of 171 runs while Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 103 runs. There was a record-breaking partnership of 229 runs between the two.
