Together, both the batsmen scored a mountain of runs in 3 innings from the first test to the second test. This pair has become the highest run-scoring pair for India in the two-Test series.

Yashasvi Jaiswala and Rohit Sharma had scored brilliant centuries in the first Test. Debutant Yashasvi played a mammoth inning of 171 runs while Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 103 runs. There was a record-breaking partnership of 229 runs between the two. After this, talk about the second Test, then in the first innings, the pair of Rohit-Jaiswal made a century partnership by playing half-century innings. In the second innings as well, both the batsmen continued this trend and together scored 98 runs. In this way Rohit and Jaiswal have scored 466 runs in just 3 innings. Both the batsmen have also appeared one step ahead of Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan.

In the history of world cricket, the biggest partnership in a two-Test series was between Graeme Smith and Neil McKenzie. Both the batsmen had hit 479 runs together. However, the opening pair of Chetan Chauhan and Sunil Gavaskar shared a 537-run partnership in the Test from India as well. But he did this feat in a series of more than two Test matches. Apart from this, the pair of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag also scored 477 runs but they also did it in more than two Tests.
