‘From Her Story to flying in Sukhoi…’: President Draupadi Murmu’s 1 year special achievements

New Delhi. Draupadi Murmu has completed her one year term as the President on Tuesday. This tenure of President Draupadi Murmu has been unprecedented in every respect. From articles inspiring women to his flying in a Sukhoi fighter aircraft… the President has achieved many achievements in the last one year. His journey from a small village in Odisha to Raisina Hill after successfully facing all odds is remarkable. On 25 July 2022, Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the President. Draupadi Murmu is the first woman of tribal origin in the country, who has held the highest position in the country.

Apart from the constitutional obligations on the post of President, the President has taken commendable steps for the upliftment of women and tribal society. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, through ‘Her Story My Story’, the President has expressed his respect for women.

, Constitution protector: Approved 20 bills of the central government and 23 of the state government.
, 214 Chief Justices and Judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts and 14 Governors were appointed.

Biography of Draupadi Murmu
Draupadi Murmu was born in a tribal family on 20 June 1958 in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. His father’s name was Biranchi Narayan Tudu, who according to his traditions, was the head of the village and society.

Political career of Draupadi Murmu
Draupadi Murmu started her political career with the BJP from Odisha. After joining BJP, he participated in Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat councilor election in 1997 and won. Then the BJP made Murmu the vice-president of the party’s Scheduled Tribe Morcha. After this, in the coalition government of BJP and Biju Janata Dal in Odisha, she was the Minister of Commerce and Transport with independent charge from 2000 to 2002.

He also served as the Minister of State for Fisheries and Animal Resource Development from 2002 to 2004. Murmu also won the legislative election from Raiganj assembly seat in Odisha. Later, from 2015 to 2021, she was appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand. She became the first woman governor of the state.
