Cat who loves mice: Mrinal Pandey
Manno the cat with gray hair and narrow eyes was again sitting on a wall of the street and was cleaning its face with spit in its paws. Manno’s best friend Jhaggad Billa kept watching him for some time, then he asked Manno, “You were not seen in the ruins this morning. Don’t you want to eat or drink anything? Let’s catch a couple of rats and have a delicious breakfast, don’t know if some eggs get caught in some bush. Walking.”
Ash-complexioned and with pointed ears, Jhaggad was famous throughout the locality for being a cat wrestler. How dare some other tomcat or cat from a stranger enter the street while he was there? Immediately making the body a bow, a growling fight would have broken out on him and then the Mahabharata would have happened, don’t ask anything. After all, a nondescript foreigner or a cat would be seen running away like an arrow from the Jhaggad area like an arrow and Vijay would proudly sit on the Jhaggad wall licking his wounds and keep telling the locality for a long time, ‘Look, this is my area’. Beware who collides with us, yes.
Manno made a pious face, “Humne nahi khane chuhe woohe, hum vegetarian ho gayi hai, yes! TV person Yogi Baba says that eating meat and meat is unrighteous. Western food spoils the body. Following his advice, now we will eat only milk and milk products.
“Ha ha ha”, Jhaggad laughed, “Arre baoli, kya tera bheya pherela hai? If the cat won’t eat mice, will it drink fruit juice like Yogi Baba? and milk? Here the children of the colony do not get fruits or milk, who will give juice or milk to the street cat. Even if there was a snake, it could have walked. But people keep cats only because there should be no glut of rats. If you refuse to kill a rat, who will ask you?”
Don’t ask. We oppose the politics run by humans which teaches violence to the living being. Baba says that even after changing the diet, we will get plenty of vitamins from milk and fruits and we will be away from violence. Jai Bharatmata!”
“Take! Is it violence for a cat to eat a mouse? This is our natural nature. The eating habits that nature has fixed for every living being, it is good for everyone if they follow them. Now see, if you stop eating rats, then the number of rats can increase four times day and night to such an extent that one day they will lick the grains of the farmers. Now see, where the lions were killed, the number of deer and nilgai has increased so much that poor goats and sheep do not get fodder. When deer, rabbits and nilgai come from the forest at night and graze all the crops standing in the fields, then people call the garden, I wish lions were saved, then the creatures who eat so much fodder would not make our life difficult. On the other hand, this thinking that Baba people also have politics. Tomorrow, if some other baba people start saying against him on some other channel, that pastures are decreasing. To save milk-giving animals, animals like elephants, horses, who eat a lot of fodder, should now eat meat so that buffaloes, cows, goats, camels continue to get fodder, then even our lives can be in danger. What about the Babas? He will jump off the stage and hide in his ashram, Billa should be killed! If humans think of themselves, then we should also think of ourselves. In America and Europe, where only cow’s meat is used, we hear that nowadays horse and dog meat is being mixed with the fodder of chickens and cows in many places so that the animals become very fat soon and humans can get more meat from them.
Manno got worried. Talking about the quarrel was not wrong. She is sitting hungry since morning, not to mention milk, she has not even got rotten fruit. At last she jumped down from the wall and raised her tail and said wryly, “TV wala baba gaya bhaad mein, chal apun shikar karte hain.”
