RSS Pracharak Madan Das Devi merged in Panch Tatva, Bhagwat and Amit Shah were also present

Pune: Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) campaigner Madan Das Devi was cremated on Tuesday in Pune city of Maharashtra. During this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat and many volunteers of the Sangh were present. Devi, who was the joint general secretary of the RSS, died at a hospital in Bengaluru on Monday at the age of 81. His body was kept for ‘darshan’ at the Moti Bagh office of the RSS in Pune city.

Apart from Shah and Bhagwat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also paid tributes to the Sangh pracharak at the Moti Bagh office. Devi’s last rites were performed at Vaikunth cremation ground. During this Shah, Bhagwat, Nadda, Fadnavis and many members of RSS were present at the cremation ground.

Addressing the people gathered at the cremation ground, Nadda said that Devi used to stay connected with the workers despite the unavailability of communication resources in the past. In his condolence message, Bhagwat said Devi not only worked for the Sangh but also kept people connected with it.

Born in Karmala Tehsil of Solapur, Maharashtra, Devi was instrumental in developing leadership skills in top BJP and RSS leaders. After M.Com, he obtained LLB degree from Pune. Devi was staying in Bangalore for treatment of her old age related ailments. He died on Monday at Rashtrotthan Hospital in Bengaluru. Devi also served as the Joint General Secretary of the RSS and the Organizing Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the RSS.
