Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that the Delhi government plans to set up 500 water ATMs to provide drinking water purified through the ‘Reverse Osmosis’ (RO) process to people in slums and other densely populated areas. The Chief Minister inspected an RO plant at Khajan Basti in Mayapuri and inaugurated a water ATM.

He said that four such ATMs have been installed and there is a plan to install a total of 500 ATMs in the first phase. For taking water in excess of the prescribed quota, a fee will be charged at the rate of Rs 1.60 per 20 litres.
