New Delhi. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said in the Rajya Sabha that the development of a helihub or heliport in Gurugram is being planned by the Haryana government in consultation with Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) Pawan Hans Limited. The site is being selected by the Haryana State Government and the feasibility survey is being done by Pawan Hans Limited.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the development of heli-hub in Gurugram would provide helicopter connectivity to residents of different parts of the state up to the National Capital Region. Multi-modal connectivity in the National Capital Region will lead to growth of industry and efficient corporate movement as well as enhance business interests of the State. This is also expected to give a boost to the helicopter MRO industry in the region.
All facilities will be in one place
Gurugram’s heli hub will be the country’s first heli hub. Significantly, there is a plan to set up a heli-hub in Gurugram on about 26 acres of land. It is one of the ten helicopter hubs proposed under the new helicopter policy of the Civil Aviation Ministry. All the facilities will be provided at one place in Heli Hub. Its purpose is to provide a common point for landing and take off of helicopter services in NCR. This will provide easy connectivity to Noida, Bhiwadi and Gurugram. The hub will have aircraft facilities like heliport, hangar and repair.
