Who is India’s poorest and richest MLA, what does he have, what does ADR report say

ADR Report: Association for Democratic Reforms i.e. ADR has released the list of poorest and richest MLAs of the country. In this report, it has been claimed that 14 percent of the MLAs of Karnataka have assets of more than Rs 100 crore. At the same time, Karnataka is at the top in terms of the state with the most rich legislators. The average assets of Karnataka MLAs is Rs 64.30 crore. At the same time, out of 10 richest MLAs of the country, maximum 4 are from Congress. According to the report, the poorest MLA of the country is from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to the report of ADR, the richest MLA of the country has assets of more than one thousand crore rupees. At the same time, the total assets of an MLA from West Bengal are not even Rs 2,000. According to the report, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar tops the list of the country’s richest legislators. He is also the state president of Congress. He has total assets of 1,413 crores. Not only this, the country’s second and third richest MLAs are also from Karnataka.

Second-third rich MLAs are also from Karnataka.
The second richest MLA of the country is KH Puttaswamy Gowda. Businessman and independent MLA Gowda has total assets of Rs 1,267 crore. At the same time, the third richest Karnataka Congress MLA Priya Krishna has assets worth Rs 1,156 crore. The report claimed that 12 of the country’s 20 richest MLAs are from Karnataka. Arunachal Pradesh is on the second number in the case of states with rich legislators. Four MLAs out of 59 in the state are billionaires. If seen in percentage, then 7 percent MLAs of Arunachal are billionaires.

32 MLAs have more than 100 crores
Karnataka MLA and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy is at number 23 in this list of ADR. Most of his property is in the name of wife Aruna Lakshmi. Reddy contested the assembly elections 2023 with his new party Kalyan Rajya Pragati Paksha. In the recent Karnataka assembly elections, the maximum number of billionaires were elected in the country. Of these, 32 have assets worth more than Rs 100 crore. Of the 10 richest MLAs in the country, four belong to the Congress and three to the BJP. After the ADR report came to the fore, a period of heated exchanges and allegations and counter-allegations has started between the political parties.

BJP-Congress tussle over immense wealth
Karnataka Congress State President DK Shivakumar said about his immense wealth that I am not the richest, but I am not poor either. He says that I have acquired these properties over a long period of time. Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad defended him and said that DK Shivkumar is a businessman. What’s wrong with that too? During this, he also raised questions on the property of BJP MLAs regarding the mining scam. Karnataka BJP’s senior leader Suresh Kumar said that Congress loves rich people. Country’s poorest MLA Nirmal is from BJP
The poorest MLA in the country is BJP MLA from West Bengal Nirmal Kumar Dhara. It has been claimed in the report that his total declared assets are only Rs 1,700. There is not even a single rupee in his bank account. There is no liability of any kind on Nirmal Kumar Dhara. The second poorest MLA is Independent MLA Makaranda Muduli from Odisha. His total assets are Rs.15,000. In this case, Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA from Punjab, Narinder Pal Singh Sawna, is at number three. His total declared assets are Rs 18,370.

No case, no savings, no investment and no policy
