New Delhi. Central government officials are going to get a big gift. The government has told that now these officers will be given a mobile phone and laptop worth Rs 1.30 lakh. Not only this, officers can also keep these devices with them for personal use after 4 years. Earlier also officers used to get this facility, but now its cost has been increased.
The Expenditure Department of the Finance Ministry has issued a notification saying that detailed guidelines have been issued in this regard. A proper list has been made of the category and price of the devices given to the eligible officers for use in the office. In this, mobiles, laptops, tablets, phablets, notebooks, notepads, ultra-books, netbooks and other similar devices have been included in this list.

what’s in the guidelines
The Department of Expenditure has said in its guidelines that officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary (Deputy Secretary) or above of the Central Government have been considered eligible for giving such electronic devices. In case of Section Officers and Under Secretaries, 50% of the sanction amount will be paid for this device.
How much money will be received for the device
In the memorandum issued by the Department of Expenditure, it has been said that the cost of the device will also depend on where it is made. If more than 40 percent of the components of this device will be of Make in India, then Rs 1.30 lakh and taxes will be given for this. 1 lakh plus taxes will be paid for the rest of the device. The officers who have already been given the device will not get a new one. If 4 years have not passed since the device was given earlier and it is being repaired, then its cost can be borne.
Can be used for personal use
According to the memorandum issued by the Ministry, after completion of 4 years, officers can keep this device for their personal use. However, before this the data has to be completely erased from the device and it should not contain any official information.

Facility was given earlier also
The Department of Expenditure had earlier issued a similar memorandum on March 27, 2020. In this, it was said to give devices up to Rs 80,000 to the officers. Apart from this, the device was not to be given to these officers even for their personal use after 4 years. But, with the new memorandum issued on July 21, the old one has been replaced and now all these facilities will be given.
